The motor is an important component in the grain conveyor and is the key to driving the entire conveyor to operate. Therefore, choosing a good motor is very important for the grain conveyor. The following is an introduction to motor selection:
1. Short circuit protection should use instantaneous overcurrent release devices such as fuses or low-voltage circuit breakers, or overcurrent relays with instantaneous components. Fuses should be installed on at least two phases.
2. The rated current of the fuse link should be greater than the rated current of the motor, and after calculating the deviation of its ampere second characteristic curve, it should be slightly higher than the intersection point of the motor starting current and starting time. If the motor starts frequently, increase the rated current of the fuse by 1-2 levels. The setting current of the instantaneous current release or overcurrent relay instantaneous component should be 2-2.5 times the starting current of the motor.

3. The setting current of the thermal relay or overload release should not be less than the rated current of the motor, and its value should be close to the rated value. Contactors, starters, or dedicated switches should be used for controlling electrical appliances. A group of motors can share one set of control appliances, and the control appliances should be able to connect and disconnect the locked rotor current of the motor.
4. For continuous operation belt conveyors, fuse protection or short-circuit protection should be used, and phase failure thermal relay protection or temperature protection should be installed. Low voltage protectors should use undervoltage release devices of low-voltage circuit breakers or electromagnetic coils of contactors, and their control circuits should be powered by the main circuit of the motor. The electric motor and its control electrical appliances should share a set of isolators.
On the circuit of low-voltage AC motors, isolation devices should be installed on each motor. Grain conveyors or a group of motors that share a set of short-circuit protection should share a set of isolation devices. The current carrying capacity of the main circuit wire of the motor should not be less than the rated current of the motor, and its mechanical strength, voltage, and thermal stability under short-circuit conditions should be verified.
Choose the appropriate motor according to the above method to avoid affecting the normal use of the grain conveyor.
