However, traditional biplane threshing machines may have some problems during use, such as the wheels easily getting stuck in the grain pile when walking in it, making it difficult for the equipment to move; Unable to flexibly adjust the bucket height and feed rate; Manual assistance is required for feeding during grain harvesting.

To address these issues, some manufacturers or users may make improvements to it. For example, in the Dafeng Grain Science and Technology Industrial Park project of Jiangsu Coastal Agricultural Development, technicians transformed the traditional double winged wheel threshing machine into a new type of threshing machine that can be controlled by a remote control. This modified threshing machine is similar to a "small tank", capable of agile forward, backward, and turning, and can flexibly adjust the height of the threshing head through a hydraulic device. Two sets of fan like "mechanical claws" inside the feeding port can quickly rotate and automatically "feed" the grain into the "mouth", and then transfer it to the conveyor belt. According to calculations, the new type of threshing machine can complete 100 tons of grain outflow per hour with one person operating, which is three times more efficient than traditional threshing machines.
